A young man, simply identified as Michael, a father of four children, has been confirmed dead in Calabar, allegedly beaten by officials from Cross River State Department of Public Transportation, DOPT. Earlier today, an auto-accident occurred on the Third-Mainland bridge, inward Lagos Island, Lagos. The accident involved a fully-loaded Mazda bus with registration number LSR 890XF and a Yellow Toyota bus with registration number LND 517XP. Passengers of the vehicles sustained several degrees of injuries. Officials of LRU later visited the scene of the accident for recovery exercise. It was a shocking one today being Monday the 3rd of June, 2019 as a building in the University of Calabar did collapsed. The building is located just beside the school e-library as is believe to be a restroom for students. However ClabarOnline reporter believe that the building collapsed as a result of heavy rainfall in the state for some days now which might have cause this sad incident to occur. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has unveiled the statue of the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. This is coming less than 2 weeks to his handover to the New administration. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday postponed his one-day official visit to Imo State. Buhari was expected in Imo State to commission, among other projects, a statue of him, constructed by the Governor Rochas Okorocha government. A 200 level Guidance and Counseling student of the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH), Ugbe Dominic aka Paperboi, got drowned in a swimming pool. According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday, May 11, 2019, as about 5:35PM during a pool party organized by his department in collaboration with the department of Guidance and Counseling, University of Calabar. Paperboi allegedly drowned while participating in a swimming competition in Jacaranda suites hotel, located in Calabar. All effort to revived him didn’t bring any positive result.
