ASUU Suspend 8-months-old Strike.
After a six hour meeting which commenced at 7pm yesterday, the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, has suspended its eight-month-old industrial action conditionally.
However, the union president, Prof. Osodoke said the union will embark on another industrial strike action if the Federal Government failed to meet the agreement they had.
Asuu embarked on Strike on Monday, February 14, 2022, to drive home their demands.
The union demands included some of the following;
• Deployment of University Transparency Accountability Solution. UTAS.
• Renegotiation Agreement of 2009.
• Revitalization Funds for Public Universities
• Members earned allowances.
The union have firmly stated that if the federal Government do not stick the the agreement they had, the union will have no choice than to embark on another industrial strike action without notice.
